Mezcal

Origin:
Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. Produced from the naturally selected and cultivated Agave Espadín Angustifolia.
Its production is controlled on generational lands and in collaboration with regional farmers, without invading other ecosystems, such as deforesting forests that are disappearing to grow these plants.

Production:
The Agave Espadín fields of Siete Machos are tended by six generations of farmers and master mezcal makers in the valleys of Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. These are non-invasive lands that avoid deforestation in the forests of Oaxaca.
To regenerate these lands, in addition to allowing them to rest for a period, the milpa technique is being introduced to coexist with the agaves. This balances the nutrients in the soil.
Milpa: An ancestral cultivation technique involving corn, squash, and beans. Each plant contributes to and extracts nutrients, stabilizing the soil. The leaves of these plants provide shade, cooling the soil and helping it withstand extreme droughts caused by climate change.

Our
Story
Siete Machos is a brand of tradition, popular in the Latin world. Continuing our legacy of traditional products, we introduce Tequila and Mezcal Siete Machos—drinks carefully crafted with the highest values of tradition and respect for the environment.
Registered since 1930, Siete Machos was recognized as a “famous brand” by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) in 2016.
Vermicompost is a highly valuable organic fertilizer created through the decomposition of organic waste by worms. At Siete Machos, we produce our spirits sustainably using agave production waste. Residues from agave hearts (piñas) are collected and mixed with animal manure, then processed by worms in special channels to create nutrient-rich fertile soil.
In addition, vermicompost generates a liquid fertilizer used to nourish young agave plants, completing an eco-friendly cultivation cycle. This approach promotes sustainability and ensures that our products are free from harmful chemicals.
